This format is designed to make the hand-off of digital artwork go as smooth as possible. Virtually all graphics programs are able to save or export this format. There is also the advantage of having fonts and links included within the PDF document. This helps to keep the integrity of the final artwork and to eliminate the need to provide such supporting files.
Our most essential advice when creating a PDF is to be sure any Embed Fonts options are turned on and that high quality settings are chosen (compression low or off). If the PDF settings in your software program have never been altered you are probably fine with the default options.
